Over 2000 Runners and 135,000 watts of power make Detweiller at Dark – an unofficial embarkment upon the cross country season – the most unique XC event in the nation. This isn't your ordinary race; it's a twilight thrill set against the picturesque backdrop of Detweiller Park in Peoria, Illinois. As dusk descends, lace up and hit the trails, where each stride brings a burst of excitement and the camaraderie of fellow night runners fuels your spirit. It's more than a run; it's a glowing celebration of sports, nature, and the joy of pushing your limits under the stars.

As the world celebrates Global Running Day, the Steamboat Classic prepares to celebrate its 50th Anniversary in Downtown Peoria on Saturday, June 15. This race was created in 1974 by Running Central (now RC Outfitters) Founder Steve Shostrom with support from the Illinois Valley Striders. In keeping with tradition, the Steamboat Classic will continue to be open to runners, walkers, and wheelchair athletes of all ages and abilities.
