The Heart of Peoria’s Historic Riverfront District
RC is situated in the heart of Downtown Peoria’s Riverfront, a commercial historic district encompassing seventeen city blocks in downtown Peoria, Illinois. The district's buildings reflect Peoria's longstanding development as an industrial center and major Illinois city.
Peoria was platted in the 1820s, with the oldest buildings in the district dating back to 1867…shortly before Peoria's economic boom of the 1870s. The building that houses RC was built soon after, in 1903.
A 1903 Gem Restored to Its Natural Beauty
Our 1903 Brick & Timber warehouse-style building, originally constructed as a lumber supplier, then Acme Manufacturing and more recently known as the Illinois Antique Center, was built to last; it has been beautifully restored to its natural bones and character.
The robust buildings that Oakford and Fahnestock, who became the largest food wholesaler in the Midwest, constructed in Downtown Peoria remain in service today. Goods and seasonings were packaged at 311 Water Street, now the home of RC Outfitters.

EDUCATION AND INSTRUCTION
To promote wellness and safety for our customers, our team and our community, we continue to teach the importance of exercise, healthy living through nutrition and hydration, visibility and safety, an effective emergency plan and awareness when exercising on public streets and trails, “prehabilitation” over rehabilitation, and proper fitting. Every month RC hosts guest instructors, offers clinics and/or invites wellness professionals to provide expertise.
